A unique Privy code must be installed on your Shopify store to display your campaigns, track visitor behavior (e.g., campaign views), and acquire order information for segmentation or targeting. The Privy app for Shopify performs this installation automatically without the need for coding or development skills.

Installing Privy will enable:

1. Automatic syncs of new email signups to Shopify. No need for automation rules.
2. The automatic import of all existing mailable contacts from Shopify into Privy, including your contacts purchase history.
3. An option to export contacts directly from Privy's contacts dashboard to Shopify.
4. Changes to customer records in Shopify will automatically create or update contacts with the corresponding email address in Privy. Any Shopify Tags applied to contacts in Shopify will sync to the corresponding contacts in Privy. Deletions are not replicated in either direction.
5. Customers marked as “accepts marketing” in Shopify are automatically marked mailable in Privy. This enables you to send marketing emails through Privy that bring your mailable contacts back to your site to make a purchase.
6. The creation and management of Shopify coupon codes within Privy.
7. Automatic sync of your Shopify product catalog and Shopify Collections to easily highlight products in your marketing emails.

Installing Privy will not modify your store theme or change any store settings when installed through the app store.

Performing a manual install only enables campaigns to display on your store's site and for basic tracking information to be collected about visitors. Due to these limitations, a manual install is not recommended for most users.
